English

I think to write in a blog every class is a good way to learn English because you need to improve your vocabulary and read what my classmates do. I can know better what they like and it is a funny way to make that. Writing about what you like it is a very good way to untied your hand and be curious of how you can say some things. It is different way to teach a language. In the School, the classes are too boring when you have to read always topics that no one is interested. My English improve, now I can expose my ideas more clearly and express more things, talk about the details for example. However, I think I have to let it go, because I know the word and I can understand almost everything but maybe I am too afraid to speak.

Blogging in the English class sometimes was very funny but sometimes was boring. I think it is better when you can do this at home, and maybe write a text a little bit shorter. Maybe write a dialog with more classmates. Nevertheless, in general, is an alternative way to learn what we need to know to talk a Basic English. I prefer to talk more in English than writing, but we need to practice with the words to write an e-mail as a journalist for example to get some information.

This past weekend I was with my cousin’s friend, who was English and a Northamerican. We have a nice time and I can understand everything about the topics conversations, but when it was my turn to speak I get a little nervous and I speak very slow but they understand me everything anyway, so it was very good!

2013

I think this year has been very stressful and it has been really fast. I remember we were in Easter week and suddenly we are in the middle of november! But yet so far it has been a good year.

I have done very well in all of my subjets in the university, my practice experience went really well too and I saved enough money for my future plans. So, I think I have achieved all my goals.  I set this challenges in the beginning of the year, because I want to travel in the summer, so I needed to save some money and make my practice experience, because the next year I  will not be able to make the practice experience.  

Some  things that I could not do were practice soccer or some other sport. Also I could not go to some concerts, one reason because I can´t spent much Money and two, because I have very little free time. The good thing it is that the yar is noto ver yet, and I can still make some of this things.

I also didn’t hanging out to much with my friends or my family. The true is that sometimes I have been very busy or to tired to go out.

To conclude, all the things that ocurred this year, the good and bad stuff,  despite  the studies and the work, I reach almost of my goals and finally I bought my airplane ticket and I will travel this summer to visit my uncle in USA, just I was planning, so I’m very happy, because all the effort was worth it. 

National Holidays

The Fiestas Patrias were specially long this year, they lasted all five days, in some cases they were longer because people, between some of them two my relatives that took extra days off from work for this time of the year.

I’m going to talk about this recently past Fondas, because they were really special. In this opportunity I went with my friends to the beach. We went to Maitencillo. We rent a cabin, all together. Every day we were making asados or parrilladas in our house or in other friend’s house that they were in Maitencillo too. But after two days I was really boring of the meat, I didn’t want to see another piece of meat, it was so much food!

One problem that we have, was that the shower was broken, so we have to buy a new one, but then the water it was cold! So this was a really issue. After a day, we complain with the renter and she fix it.

In the night we usually went to the Fondas, but it was so crowded and there was only meat and empanadas, so after the Fiestas Patrias I choose to eat only vegetables and soups.

Beside all the meat, the crowded Maitencillo and the cold water,  I really enjoyed it because I had a very good time with my school’s friends because since we are in the university we don’t see each other too much, and i have the opportunity to drink Chicha! jajaj

Hi everyone today I’m going to talk about food!

I love food, I love to go out and I have a nice meal. I love many types of food, but I think that my favourite food is the Paella. This meal was created in Valencia, Spain and there are many ways to cook the Paella. It can be with sea food or meat, but the main ingredient is rice. One time I was in Argentina and I try  Valenciana Paella, which consist of white rice, green vegetables, meat, that it could be rabbit, chicken or duck, land snails, beans and seasoning.

Here in Santiago, there are many quite restaurants. I like Italians and japans restaurants, like sushi, but the restaurants that I really love it is Peruvian food. There is one that is called Alto Perú, which is located in Seminario Street in the commune of Providencia. This restaurant it’s a little expensive, but it has very good discounts.

I would like to try the food of the entire planet, like Tai food, but I hear that is very spicy and sometimes, if you are not habituated to this kind of food, it’s bad for your stomach, but who knows?

Sometimes, in my home I cook. In my opinion I think that my rice is very good, everyone loves when I cook rice and I think is a little difficult to make good rice, everyone can make rice, but not anyone can make good and tasty rice. 

How green I am?

Hi everyone! Today I’m going to talk about the environment we live in. Actually, I think that there isn’t enough information about environmentally friendly practices. I think that the government has done nothing to educate all the Chileans people about any practices that help to contaminated less our planet. The big companies are doing campaign informing and motivating to cooperate with the Earth.

In my home I’m the only one who recycles. I separated some garbage and I leave the paper, like the periodic or some papers and the plastic and glass containers in a green spot. There is one in the Jumbo supermarket.

I also use my bike to transport. So at the same time, I win time, because if I transport in car, there is a lot of traffic in Santiago and it is a friendly practices!    

I this practica that I'm doing are helping to reduce my carbon footprint. Maybe I could motivated other people, like my friends and the rest of my family to make little actions that will help to reduce the contamination. 

I recently join to a NGO that deals with certain environmental issues such as the residues that the human being leaves. It calls Yo Reciclo. They have a web site, where they inform about new ways to recycles and all the green spot there are in the city. Some partners and I are working altogether with the Yo Reciclo guys. We are making notes and some publicity to them, to make more people know this great initiative.

In my opinion, there is a lot of information about friendly practices that there isn´t know by the people. Also there are some green spots but there few still. I think it has to be a education that teach all the thing that we can do to help our planet, maybe the government has to make new laws that protect our environment. 

Today I’m going to talk about Friends. Friends it’s a great series and I love it. The series narrates the story about six friends living in New York City. They are three women and three men. The girls are Rachel, Monica and Phoebe and the boys are Ross, Joey and Chandler.

The sitcom was created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman and the first chapter was on air on September 22, 1994. The series was produced in association with Warner Bros. Television and it has 10 seasons. It was a very successful sitcom and was transmitted in many countries around the world. It’s one of the most popular series of all time.

Awards

The series was nominated for 63 Primetime Emmy Awards, winning six. Jennifer Aniston (Rachel) and Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe) are the only main cast members to win an Emmy, while Courtney Cox (Monica) is the only actor not to be nominated. The series won the 2002 Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series, with nominations in 1995, 1996, 1999, 2000 and 2003 The series also won an American Comedy Award, one GLAAD Media Award, one Golden Globe Award, three Logie Awards, six People's Choice Awards, one Satellite Award, and one Screen Actors Guild Award.

Finally I would like to tell that there is a very funny chapter when Joey explains what is a moo point. He said that a moo point it's a point that it's doesn't matter, like a cow's opinion. I leave the link to the video of this chapter!

Gravity: The new film of Alfonso Cuarón

The amazing new movie of the mexican director brokes down all the records the first weekend of october. The film (wich has made in 3D) tells the story about two astronauts (George Clooney and Sandra Bullock) on a disaster in the middle of the space. 

The movie on his debut made $55.6m! and it's all ready looks for the Oscars next year. 

Gravity has a great responding all over the world. It has a numbers of positives reviews. In fact critics have said that this film is a excellent 3D work. The most of the ticket sales in USA were for the 3D format.

Venice film festival

Gravity opened the proceedings of this festival and the Guardian's Xan Brooks said that it was an excellent and brilliant account. 

Gravity's record-breaking total was really close to the previous highest October haul Paranormal Activity 3 $52.6m.

Originally the film it was going out on november 2012 but it was daleyed  to give it time for the special effects. 

The great succes that Gravity has made it's very good for studio Warner Bros because they put a budget of $100m and particulary because this film with arthouse leanings that not every time has a great reception from the public.

In this post I'm going to talk about a great concert, the best concert of my life. This show was the last year in here, Santiago. In april 29th, Foo Fighthers played in Lollapalloza Festival for all their fans.

The Foo Fighters are an American rock band, formed in Seattle in 1994. It was founded by Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl. The group got its name from the UFOs and various aerial phenomena that were reported by Allied aircraft pilots in World War II, which were known collectively as foo fighters.

I went with my friend Javier and my sister. I love this band since a long time, when I was 13 years old. I'll remember this show forever; because they played every song that I want. Also, their music is powerful, fun and exciting, like their concerts.

The other thing that I enjoy very much is that Dave is so charismatic and so sympathetic. He has a great personality and he demonstrated to the public. He interacted with the audience all the time.

HOLIDAYS

I love holidays, is the best time ever! You can sleep all that you want, watch TV, read a lot of books, or simply do nothing. The thing is that you have so much free time so you can do a sport constantly or even find a summer job.

My best holidays were in the summer of 2000, that year I went with all my family to Vichuquén’s lake (it’s a lake near Curicó in the south of Chile). I went my aunts, my cousins, my parents, my brother, my sister and my grandmother.

The good thing of travel with my family is that we are so many people that always spend a great time together. That summer we did a lot of things. As we were so many people, we had different works, for example I had to wash the dishes one day in the week. But not all the things was do some work, we went down stairs to the lake and we spend all day swimming, playing paletas or rowing in kayak. We visited too some nice places near the house and a lot of thing more!

RUSSIA

One of the countries that I would like to visit is Russia. I want to meet this country since I was little when I watched the movie Anastasia. I love this movie and since that day I want to see all the castles and know the history of their people, especially the political history. I would like to work or study in this country, I really don't care, because either way I'm going get to know it this beautiful country. 

SCOTLAND

I want to travel to this country also because of a movie: Braveheart.This movie tells the history of William Wallace, a 13th-century Scottish warrior who led the Scots in the First War of Scottish Independence against King Edward I of England.

I know that now Scotland is a free nation, but they are still part of the United Kingdom. In fact they have senators that represent Scotland in the government of the United Kingdom.

I would like to know all the beautiful landscapes and learn to play the instrument call Gaita.

And like Russia I really don't care if my reason to visit this country is study, work or pleasure. 

My ideal job

I think my ideal job it would be to be the animator of a program of the typical meals of the countries all over the world. I would love this job not only because I could eat a lot of food, but because I could travel and meet many diferentes cultures and people. And everyday it would be diferents, I think it's a pretty exiting job.

Qualities and skills

I think I would have to be very tolerant and respectful with the people that I would meet. I would have to be able to break the ice and make a conection with the person that I'm going to interview. 

And also it would very important that I could eat everything, even if it looks gross.

I think I would be good to this job because I would like very much, and my motivation to commit to this job, it would make me good, because when you do something that you love, you put all your energy to make things right. 

In my opinion today, there is a lot of programs and shows that are doing this, and all the animators are populars so I would have to have a plus in my program or have some feature that diferentiate me from the others shows. 

Last semester

The last semester I think it was one of the hardest semesters of the university, because I was 6 subjects and I was working as a waitress in a pub-restorant near my home. So I had to be very organized with my times. 

This were my subjects: Enfoques Latinoamericanos, Teorìa y Prácticas Multimedias, Producción Periodística en Televisión, Administración y Gestión de Medios, Epistemología de la Comunicación and English. I learnt very much about the digital journalism and how to make a real television program and in my work as a waitress I learnt many drinks and plates that I have to memorize.

Because I was very little free time I wasn’t available to make sports or other things, in fact only go out a few times, because the most of the times I was working or I was too tired and I preferred to sleep.

So this was a little problem to me, because all my friends and family invited to different things and many times I had to say no, because I couldn’t, but, finally I pass all my subjects and I quit my job and life was pretty again!
